4 hours and 43 minutes of Sleep

Tuesday

Last night I didn’t get enough sleep. There is a night-time strategy for me. I seldom have difficulty falling asleep but regularly I wake up in the middle of the night. When I do, I have a choice. I can either roll over and focus on going back to sleep or else I can do the worst possible thing and reach for my cell phone and start reading what’s in the news. As soon as I do that, it’s no longer a few minutes, it’s an hour – sometimes longer – before I go back to sleep. This morning, I took it to the next level. I woke up at 3-30am and got up and went downstairs to watch TV. About 15 minutes before the programme was due to end, Mike came downstairs and we found ourselves drinking coffee at 4-45am! The night was over! By 5-30am I was at gym. By 7am, I was home and showered and climbed back into bed again for another nap, but that only took me up to 4 hours and 43 minutes. 😴

It’s now around 8-30pm and I am so tired. And it won’t do me any good going to sleep this early because then I’ll be wide awake at 1am! I’m going to have to try to hang on for at least 9-30/10pm.

I worked this morning from about 8am to 9-30am. At 10am the engineer and the builder came for a meeting that ironed out a lot of Mike’s technical questions (and lasted almost 2 hours). Shortly after the meeting, we went down to the site as Mike had to drill a hole for the conduits. Turns out the workers weren’t ready for the drilling yet, so the foreman said he would do it. They were putting steel up for the columns…

This is a little closer….

This evening we returned to see how far they had got….

Looking towards the door…

The next floor goes on a week tomorrow and they have A LOT to do to get to that stage. So do we. We have been told we’ll have Tuesday afternoon next week to get the conduits in for that floor’s electrics before it gets thrown on Wednesday morning.  Exciting times!

Psalm 92:1-2

It is good to give thanks to the Lord, to sing praises to the Most High. It is good to proclaim You unfailing love in the morning, Your faithfulness in the evening.

These are the days.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
