Our First “Room”

Monday

Work is quiet today because it’s a holiday in the UAE. It’s a holiday tomorrow as well but I think things will be a little busier for me.

So the day was pretty chilled. I did a bit of work, went to gym and in the afternoon had a leisurely tea with Riana.

At about 5pm we went to Echo to see the day’s progress. We have our first “room.” The basement is about 33 square metres, but about 2-3 square metres are divided off as a space to put all the solar batteries. Mike calls it the plant room and today its walls were finished. Here is Mike standing in it…

Not much else to show except the view from below…

Today I paid for a whole batch of building materials including cement, rib and block and reinforced steel for the next level. Apparently the cement will come next Wednesday 11th December. This means that the builders are going to have to work extremely hard to get to a point where they are ready for the cement to be poured. They have to build the front columns, complete the concrete beams and tie them in with the ones for the next floor. They have to lay the rib and block across 61 square metres. It’s going to be a busy week for them….and for Mike and I, as we have to lay the conduits for the electrics. I think we are going to be working the weekend.

Anyway, so far it’s looking good.

As I type, Mike is busy in the garage experimenting with some concrete blocks. I’m going to go and find out what he’s up to.

2 Corinthians 2:14

Thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us in triumphal procession, and through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of Him everywhere.

These are the days.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂

Gym:

An hour and 4 minutes on the treadmill – mostly walking 1 minute and jogging 2. I think I got to about 7.5km which was pretty slow.

Braces:

1 year, 19 days
