We Have Changed Our Season Preference

Thursday

Today was the day….

…we noticed how much earlier the sun is rising. We got up earlier and went to the beach in time to see this happen at 7:42am…it’s from Echo steps…

The wind was blowing a little harder than yesterday and as a result the waves were slightly choppy, but the swim was glorious. How can I be so addicted to this? It’s so not me. I was the one that vehemently declared the safety and all the advantages of the gym pool. Warm water, no waves, no sharks, you can see where you are going. They have lines on the bottom. Now I’m in cold water with random and inconsistent waves; the knowledge that I’m swimming where sharks once swam and often I can’t see where I’m going –  and I’m loving it! How is this possible?

Moving to our mountainside apartment has also affected Mike and I in a way that I never thought possible. We have changed our season preference. Mike and I LOVED winter. In all the years past, we couldn’t wait for winter to arrive and were saddened when the weather began to warm and we bade farewell to the cold brisk days. Since moving here and introducing a regular jaunt to the beach, we are so looking forward to summer! We look forward to summer mornings at the beach at 7am. It will be interesting to see if we can keep going 4-5 times a week or if the prevailing summer wind will put us off. So far, we have kept to our plan and swum through winter.  The days are getting longer and we will soon see signs of spring. I remember when I was on the radio and leaving for work at 4:45am. By the time my birthday arrived, it was light enough for me to drive to work without turning my lights on. My birthday is 3 months today. Perhaps we will be heading for the beach at 6am!

Today was another full day at work. It’s been far busier than I have anticipated, but the good news is, I’m pretty much up  to date. I sent a lot of emails and the issue with that is that you get a lot of replies! Tomorrow is Friday, so I’m hoping for a shorter day.

Luke 12:22-23

Do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about what you will wear. For life is more than food, and the body more than clothes.

The best is yet to come – we are only passing through.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
