It Sped By In A Blur

Wednesday

Today was the day..

…that sped by in a blur. Mike and I rushed to get to the beach and planned slightly shorter exercise. I still ended up swimming for 30 minutes. We had rushed down hoping to get back before the sand arrived. We didn’t. I’d forgotten to take my cell phone so there were missed calls from both our cottage guests  and Courage, both phoning to say the sand is here!  Fortunately, Courage arrived just at the right time and the guests didn’t need to get involved with the delivery!

With Courage, came a new worker called David. He had a free morning so with Schoolboy not available, David, a tiler by trade, came to lug the sand up from the pavement to the patio. This was an interesting exercise because previous labourers have taken all day to complete the exercise. David did it in about 3 hours. Even Courage was impressed. David had something else to do in the afternoon, so he left at about 1:30pm.

Last week there was an accident on Simon’s Town road. It happened at 10:30pm one night and involved a single car. It seemed to lose control, hit the left kerb and ricocheted across the road jamming between a sign post and the wall. The car was a right off. The neighbours said the driver and passenger were both injured and taken off to hospital. The debris stayed for a few days but has now been cleared up.

The Echo Steps sign was knocked off and disappeared…

This was it before…

I wonder how long it will take to get another one!

The sunrise this morning was spectacular.

Since getting home and having breakfast, I’ve done 9 hours work. In between, I drove my car back to the old house doing a bit of shopping on the way. Mike was also out and about. After leaving the car, I started walking home and he picked me up.   It’s now nearly 8pm and Mike and I have a TV date, so let me get this wrapped up and get out from behind my laptop screen.

I’m so grateful for my job. Also grateful for a rest.

Psalm 27:1

The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

The best is yet to come – we are only passing through.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
