The Doorbell Rang and There Was No One There

It was the weirdest thing this morning. The bell at the gate rang. I immediately looked out the window but there was no one there. That was strange. A few minutes passed. Then it rang again! I immediately looked, but again there was no one there.

This was very peculiar. Mike and I were trying to figure out what it could be. There was no one at the gate, so we didn’t physically go outside to look. It was beginning to feel a bit spooky!

I had just got in from gym, so I went upstairs to have a shower. A few minutes later, I heard the doorbell again! I rushed to our bedroom window. There was no one there. Then I heard Mike going outside.

It was Audrey!!

She had come to clean the cottage but couldn’t get in the cottage gate. She was ringing our gate bell and then running across to the other gate to see if she had been heard! Stuart was at work! Poor Audrey. How frustrating.

Next time when the door bell seemingly magically rings on its own, we’ll know it’s Audrey!

Today was another long work day. I have been wrapping up ahead of our holiday. Riana came round to see what she needs to do for me. I had a longish Skype call with the MD and caught up with her. They are a wonderful company and are very kind to me.

I’ve put auto-response on my work email. I’ll have my laptop. I’ll pick it all up again on 4th February!

We have packed most of our clothes. Tomorrow I will sort out technology and toiletries and then we will be done.

Now I’m off to watch Fake or Fortune. I got it wrong when I spoke of it before. I said Fraud or Fortune! This time I got it right.

Time to chill! Tomorrow, the blog should come from the ship!

Ephesians 1:4-5

Even before He made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in His eyes. God decided in advance to adopt us into His own family by bringing us to Himself through Jesus Christ.

Those words are profound. “Without fault in His eyes”.  It blows my mind.

These are the days.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
