First Building Delay

If we thought we would break ground in February, we were delusional. The builder hoped the scrutiny fees may be end of January but that too is absolutely wishful thinking.  We got the news that because the house we are building does not look like the current one that is on the property, we need all the neighbours’ permission for plans to be passed. So, our plans lady has put that in motion. Will it be one month delay or two or more? No one is saying! At least we don’t have to do anything.

Then the other thing is the Council wants a conveyancer certificate to say that our deed of transfer doesn’t restrict another dwelling. It does but only a wood and iron one (which I think is in reference to a shack). Anyway, we got that certificate today.

The wheels of planning permission turn very slow, but at least they turn! We are not exactly in a rush.

Today was a mammoth work day. Apart from work, Mike & I did a couple of loads of laundry and started preparation for our holiday. I found some of these pills…

I’ve got all we need for boarding in a plastic envelop…

We are really excited about cruising out of Cape Town. We will enjoy it even though it’s going to be blowing gales! What makes this trip really quite fun is that it’s not far from home. It’s 8 nights. The ship stops in PE where we will have lunch with Mike’s sister who we haven’t seen for years. Then onto Durban. Julian boards in Durban which is the whole reason why we decided to do this trip in the first place. The ship then goes to the Portuguese Islands, then back to Durban and we fly home.

It’s an unexpected adventure.

I’m taking my laptop, have arranged internet and will try to continue the blog.

John 6:45

“It is written in the Prophets, ‘They will all be taught by God.’ Everyone who has heard the Father and learned from Him comes to Me.”

Quite a thought-provoking Bible verse.

These are the days.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,
