Swimming Experiment

Today has, at the end of it, been a productive day. I worked for 7 hours. I did washing and actually even did a bit of housework. Mike went to see his clients for a couple of hours so for a time the house was very quiet. While he was out, I was hoping to do a lot of housework, but he came back sooner than expected.

Most Wednesdays, I got to gym for a run, cycle and swim. By the time, I get in the pool, I am altogether finished from the run and cycle. As a result the swim is exhausting. Today I decided to only swim. It definitely made a difference. I swam 46 lengths in about 40 minutes. I did stop along the way, but as I walked towards the car, I had to admit, I felt I had worked out. It was a good swimming experiment. I’m beginning to get some swimming muscle memory. I still don’t swim fast, but I sure swim a whole lot better than when I started 5 months ago.  I do enjoy it! I swam in lane two today.

One of the most significant things about this day – 30th May – is that 4 years ago, it was my last day on CCFm. I ended my radio career. This was me on that day…

I said to Mike this evening, as I look back, I would NEVER have believed that I would be working, almost full time in the job I am in now. Life does seem a lot simpler now. I think it’s because my days revolve around far fewer people. There are a number of aspects of CCFm that I miss, but I really believe my time on air was up. I do not regret for a second my 20 years at the station. It was an amazing time. I’m having a wonderful time now too.

#676 of my 1000 thanks is for four fruitful years. That’s the amazing thing. The years at CCFm were fruitful. And so have the last four years been. Different fruit, but fruitful none the less. Thank you for reading my blog. You are part of the fruit.

I am grateful.

Romans 15:5

May the God of patience and comfort grant you to be like-minded toward one another, according to Christ Jesus.

These are the days.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
