Massive Storm

As I write, the wind is picking up at a hectic pace. The doors and windows are rattling and every now and you can hear the trees rustling and the wind gusting. There’s a lot of rain on the way to Cape Town tonight. The forecast says near gale force winds with lots of rain…

Wemmershoek which is one of the main dams feeding the city…

All of this is very good for our water situation. The dam levels on Monday…4% up from the same time last year which is wonderful news….

Today they are 1% up from Monday…

It’s going to be so interesting to see what tonight’s rain does for them. What a blessing. Every single drop. We are so grateful! Truffles has the right idea. She goes into my cupboard, finds a long jersey like garment and snuggles up on it. She was there all of last night and she is already tucked up there this evening. This was her emerging from her spot…

#677 of my 1000 thanks is for a COLD shower! I got in from gym this morning and showered but didn’t let the water heat up before getting under it. It was so invigorating. With the weather cold, you need to be really hot to appreciate it.

As we close the door on May, I look back on it with wonder. We had waited for this month for nine months. It arrived and Elsie has been born. She is beautiful and growing well. We are so very grateful. Mike’s eye is back to normal and unless it deteriorates no more eye injections are needed. I didn’t anticipate that good news. We are so very grateful.  Both Mike and I have had quite a lot of work this month, which has been satisfying and again our hearts are filled with gratitude that we get these opportunities. The rain is beginning to fall and the increased wet weather is also something for which we are so very thankful.

Tomorrow is June 1st and God willing, weather permitting, holes will be dug at the Echo plot. Mike has been working hard on the plans. He has designed a new home for us and if all goes well with the inspection holes tomorrow, we’ll put in motion the new development.

Some inspiration to end:

Psalm 9:9

The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble.

These are the days.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

Helga xx 🙂
