Standing Up Against Violence Against Women and Children

2-48pm

This has been the focus for all of us at CCFm this week. Today, particularly, we have had an open day of prayer at CCFm and lots of onair activity, talking about how we can break the scourge of violence against women and children that is sweeping through our communities. Today, Jason and I came dressed in black…

Helga and JasonAnd Jason went a step further and, after getting the idea from the front page of the Cape Times, put some travelling advertising on the back of his legs…

Jason with his leg artTomorrow, we will be having an event at Petra Life Centre, Rocklands, Mitchells Plain. So that’s where I will be! It’s on the corner of Weltevreden and Cormorant between 2 & 4pm.  There will be praise and worship  with Jason Pretorius.   Join me, and sign our wall of Remembrance and tribute to those women who have lost their lives due to violence.

Meantime, I am listening to Chief Magistrate Desmond Nair as he recaps the information related to the bail application of Oscar Pistorius.  I hope he will get bail. From what I have heard, I believe Oscar’s version and that this has been one terrible, tragic accident. Meanwhile, it’s on ETV, Sky TV, CNN and BBC! South Africa certainly getting a chunk of international airtime this afternoon.  Continue to pray for the families involved.

Granny update. Granny is still very frail. On Wednesday, she could not get up from her chair without help. Thursday, she was better and today, although she is slow, she is managing. Mike takes Monday off and we will take her to the Ladies Christian Home. She seems to have accepted this. I am a bit torn, but I have to admit that I know it is best and that she will get greater care than we can provide.

Isaiah 46:4 Even to your old age and gray hairs I am He, I am He who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you;  I will sustain you and I will rescue you.

Thank you Jesus!

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
