Satisfying Saturday

Saturday

Dear Elsie

Today was the day you went to Nora’s 5th birthday party! We exchanged voice notes in the morning. One of the things that has crossed my mind over the last day is your impression of my daily scrawlings in 20 years time, when you are 25. I imagine you reading this & asking the question, ‘what was Covid?’ and shaking your head in disbelief that the medical profession were scratching in the dark for a solution to your Uncle David’s fatigue and strange combination of symptoms. Perhaps in 2043, there will be a single test that sprouts the answer for all the body’s maladies. I wonder what you will be doing in 20 years time and where Nora is!

Today was the day the cottage guest who had stayed 39 nights, left. He comes back at the end of November. He also has touched on renting the cottage for a year. We’ll talk about it and let him know. For now, he’s coming next month and then in February again.

It was a very productive day for us. Mike did some measuring up in the cottage and bought some conduiting for electrics that he will do next week. I did laundry, housework and shopping. What’s cool about this weekend is  there is more “weekend” to follow, as we are away Monday and Tuesday nights. We are going to the Cederberg/ Citrusdal with good friends. One thing I like is there will be no doubt about the weather. On this occasion, it is not indecisive. Packing will be easy.

This is on the lower side compared to other weather sites I saw. They predict 36 – 40C! I don’t mind heat as long as there’s an air-conditioner and a swimming pool.  We are looking forward to it.

This afternoon we walked along to the bottom of Elsie’s Peak to see how the excavation is coming along. Not much has changed.

Mike and David are watching rugby – Argentina playing Wales and Wales is ahead.

Isaiah 19:25
The Lord Almighty will bless them, saying, “Blessed be Egypt my people, Assyria my handiwork, and Israel, my inheritance.”

We do not know the mind of God.

It’s not about now – we are only passing through.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Gran xx 🙂
