Log on the Rocks

Friday

Dear Elsie

Today was the day we saw the logs on the rocks.   I had read about this on Facebook & this morning when we went for our swim, it was low tide, so we got to see the logs up close. No one knows where they came from. It must have been one big trunk that got split in two and washed up after the storm a couple of weeks ago. A massive heavy tree trunk which the shark spotters are trying to cut up, with minimal success. This is the part just below the cat walk…

Then further out, there is another big piece. As it was low tide, I was able to walk across the rocks to see it…

And I took a couple of photos from there as well. Beautiful Fish Hoek at low tide with the sea perfect for swimming today.

Looking the other way…

I had a good swim, both out to the barrel and towards the lighthouse. The sea was flat, calm and clear. The temperature was about 16. Perfect for a morning dip. It certainly gets us the best of the day.

Home for breakfast and work and then at 11am, Gareth, our cottage guest who leaves tomorrow, came up for coffee. He is planning some long stays in our cottage. He comes to the Seaview Apartment at the end of next month for almost 4 weeks and returns again in February. Single with a life in Gauteng, he’s looking to spend more of it down here by the seaside.  And why not? We are blessed to enjoy this every single day.

Today, David contacted the doctor about his blood clots and asked what the next steps should be. He got this response…So the trial continues. Hopefully, when this new stuff arrives, it will kill the clots for good. What would we do without our faith, I do not know. God knows what’s going on. He has David’s back. Mike’s good advice – just enjoy today. We don’t need to think too much about the future.

Isaiah 17:7
In that day men will look to their Maker and turn their eyes to the Holy One of Israel.

It’s not about now – we are only passing through.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Gran xx 🙂
