Morning & Evening at Fish Hoek

Wednesday

Today was the day…

I was at Fish Hoek beach morning and evening, although I didn’t swim this evening. Today was the quintessential perfect autumn day in Cape Town. This is what March is supposed to be like, not the crazy windy days we have been having.  This morning, the beach looked like this…

And this evening, this was it…

Lots of people were still in the sea and the shark nets were being bought in. Swimming conditions were wonderful. My swim this morning reflected it…

I’m not sure how the Swolf works but lower is better. Also this temperature of 16? What the flip! Neither the water nor the air temperature was that low. All I can imagine is that it records the lowest temperature encountered. Perhaps I swam through a cold stream and it picked that up. One thing that did happen which was unusual –  I swam to the drum twice and the second time,  I swam up to it and around it and as I got to the other side of it I stopped to rest. That was when I saw a very strong serious swimmer zip past me – swimming between the drum and me, so she must have been right behind me on the way there. She was clearly an open water swimmer of note!

Julian left today, but he’s back in Johannesburg for less than a week before we enjoy his company again.

Psalm 63:7

Because You are my help, I sing in the shadow of Your wings.

The best is yet to come – we are only passing through.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
