It’s A Dog’s Life

But not always. TEARS is an animal welfare association in our area and daily they have animals being delivered to their premises. Animals that are suffering, abandoned and neglected or sometimes just lost. My friend Ingrid is a dog fan and helps out at TEARS regularly. In January she posted this…

Poor Tin Tin. Found on the side of the N2, he was a sorry sight. He was at TEARS for ages. Then my friend Riana arrived home from overseas and with an empty nest, she figured she could do with a Tin Tin in her life. So after a few visits to TEARS, on 3rd February Tin Tin moved into the Beretta home and became the centre of attention.

He gets specially cooked food – pet’s mince with veggies/rice and chicken with veggies. He loves frozen Vienna sausages so those are in stock. He has a big pillow on which to sleep and recently was groomed.

And he now sports a bandana…

He is still almost toothless, partially sighted and slightly deaf, but his life is now one of luxury and love. He hardly says boo to a goose. Riana has heard him bark once or twice and the other day when she arrived home, he tried to jump up to greet her. He is settling in very well. It’s a wonderful reciprocal relationship.

How life can change. Just two months ago Tin Tin was scratching around, trying to find food, hardly surviving, not a friend in the world. Now he has a roof over his head, meal times, snacks, walks, comfort, warmth, love, attention and a load of friends and family, keen to pat, stroke and rub his belly. What Ingrid said in her first message has come to pass. “He sooo deserves to live his last days in a warm loving home”. He’s got it.

Never give up. You just don’t know what is around the next corner. 🙂

Talking of pets, Truffles is absolutely petrified of thunder and lightning. When we had the thunderstorm last week, she bolted inside.  She is usually such an unsociable cat – attention on her terms – and very much an outdoor cat. But when the storm came, the reverse was true. She just needs to be close to us. Here she is on my lap, staying close and waiting for the storm to pass…

#572 of my 1000 thanks is for pets that bring such pleasure. 🙂

Psalm 20:4

May He give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed.

Amen!

These are the days.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
