The Gift of Clean Laundry

With the drought, doing a load of laundry has become a luxury more than regular chore. Today I got to do one. It was such a treat not doing it by hand and having a whole lot of clean clothes. It was great to see the washing basket empty again.

#573 of my 1000 thanks is for a load of clean laundry!

On these hot sunny days, one of my water saving ways is to put the towels out in the sun. After a day of baking, they are well aired and smell clean again. Regular airing makes the gaps between washes a whole lot longer.

Today, after putting the washing on, I got stuck into work and did a few hours. There is a lot of work coming. I’ve been allocated a job of putting all the applicants for a certain job on the organisation’s website. It’s going to be great! I’m ready. Bring it on.

I went to gym at lunchtime. I’ve been struggling to run 5km. Last Saturday, I tried, but the treadmill rebooted at the 3km mark, so I stopped with it. Today I was determined. I did a few stretches and then put the treadmill on and off I went. I felt good and managed it in 35 minutes and 15 seconds. Not my best ever, but certainly my best over the last couple of weeks. Below is the view I had from the treadmill. I watched a variety of swimmers and did crazy things like time their lengths and count their arm strokes. I concluded I am probably where I should be considering two months ago I hadn’t swum properly for 30 years. The gym has managed to find some non drinking water to add to the pool so it’s not quite as low as it was. I’m looking forward to getting in the pool again on Wednesday.

I did 20 minutes of other exercises before heading home.  It’s been an orderly day and I’ve enjoyed it.

Psalm 37:34

Put your hope in the Lord. Travel steadily along His path.

Such wise advise.

These are the days.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
