Home Alone

Thursday

Today was the day…

We were home alone. There were no workers on site! It was very quiet. Even Courage wasn’t here, because he went straight to the old house to continue the work that needs to be done there.

The wind has been howling, but look at this…it’s going to have dropped by tomorrow morning and then we will be in for some super days…

Because the wind was blowing so hard, I decided my workout would be on the steps, so I walked down to the patio and up again (54 steps from the patio) and did that 7 times. It pushed my heart rate up nice and high. Then I came inside and pulled up an excellent online Pilates class and did most of that. Mike had ventured out on a walk, but came home before too long because he had forgotten his mask. While it wasn’t a full hour, my exercise routine did enough to warrant a shower and make me feel I’d done some work.  Tomorrow, with little wind, to the beach we shall go.

Apart from work and shopping, today I went to the nursery and bought small bags of potting soil. When I have to do the carrying up the stairs, I am definitely considering bag size and weight. Armed with  manageable loads, I came home and repotted my Checkers seedlings, most of which (surprisingly) survived. Two didn’t.

They have joined the other couple of plants by the windows…

Our list of building work to be done has rapidly reduced and now there are literally only one handful of things to do. David’s unit should be done by the weekend so he can move in very soon. The few things left to be done on our floor will also be done within a week. It will certainly be a red letter day when we pay Werner the final outstanding amount and get to call the building finished. Wow!

The other thing I did today was reduce the internet package at the old house to R399/month and reduce our DSTV package to a cheaper one.

Dinner is almost done, so let me go serve up.

Jeremiah 32:17

Ah, Lord God! It is You who have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and by Your outstretched arm! Nothing is too hard for You.

Amen!

The best is yet to come.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
