From the Shade of the Balcony

2-27pm

Off our bedroom we have a balcony. Today I tried to escape the heat and humidity by working out here. Every now and again a gust of wind blows around the corner and is welcome relief. The grapes have ripened and now large sweet bunches hang heavily, some providing fine nectar for birds and insects. Ants and flies and bees and bugs zip in and out of ruined bunches. The prime clusters are covered to try and preserve them. It’s time to harvest our little crop and refrigerate them for future use. Here I am working away….

Me on the balconyToday Miranda visited Granny, bringing with her a beautiful yellow hibiscus flower…

Hibiscus from Miranda

Yesterday afternoon, my guest from England, Peter arrived home from his travels. He had been all over the place, up mountain passes and into valleys yonder! He was happy to be back. In the early evening, we took a walk on the cat walk to cool down a bit…

CatwalkThere were a flock of very brazen seagulls…not afraid this lot…

Pretty brazen seagullsI love taking photos of birds…I think they give such character to a picture.

For Downton Abbey fans, Lauren posted this which is fun…who thinks of these things…
