Granny’s Bruising Improving

2-25pm

Granny is feeling the heat today! Although she is slow and frail, her face is improving day by day…

Granny's bruising improving

The black mark is where the skin came off and it bled a bit. Poor Granny. Amazingly resilient and uncomplaining.

This morning’s show was great…you can hear the number of listeners increase with the traffic volumes as schools reopened and everyone started getting up a whole lot earlier. Ruth Goble has been presenting Morning Rendezvousn this month and it was like a flashback from way back having both Ruth and Jeremy in the studio. Jeremy was in reading the news this morning…they both were regulars on CCFm 15 years ago!

Ruth and Jeremy 2013After the show, I did some work, then a little shopping before meeting the girls for lunch and a chat. It was all in honour of Leanne who is here from Dubai for a short time…

FriendsI spoke to Peter this morning and he should be home soon. I’ve just opened up the cottage to let some air through and put the hot water cylinder back on in there as well.  Show prep is just about done for tomorrow! 🙂 I’m sitting out on the patio, drinking tea, hearing the children next door enjoy swimming. 33C for Cape Town today. 41C for Paarl. I cannot imagine what that is like!

This morning, my Bible reading included Matthew 11:28-30. You’ll probably be familiar with these words of Jesus, “Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me for I am gentle and humble in heart and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

As I read these priceless verses, a couple of words jumped out.

“COME” – this is movement on our part. Jesus opens wide His arms and says, ‘Come to Me’. We are invited to run to Him and throw our arms around His neck, like a child would run to his father. Imagine Jesus swinging us off our feet, as He embraces us.

“REST”  – it is such a comforting word to those who are tired. How often I have said, “I just need to rest.”  But there is more than just physical rest here. It is ‘rest for your souls’. When we turn to Christ we find that elusive quality so missing in today’s world: PEACE. That is rest for your souls.  And it all begins with Come! Take that step today!

God bless you loads!

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
