Four Days Before Christmas

Last night Julian, Jess and Gerrie all arrived and so this morning we all met for breakfast. After that we headed home and David, Gerrie and Jess went shopping. They went OTM to the Blue Route and it took them an hour and a half to get home (usually a 15-20 minute trip). The traffic was horrendous. Note to self: stay in the valley. Avoid going OTM to shop. I went to the local mall which was nicely quiet!

I also went to gym. Yesterday I did the Grid which I felt was easier than the first time I did it. My legs weren’t shaking quite as badly as I went down the stairs. Today, however, I suffered. I had pain in places I never knew I had muscles. Eventually I took a Myprodol and that really helped. I hope to try again next week!

#514 of my 1000 thanks is for Myprodol! I learned about them about 25 years ago when I had my wisdom teeth out and most of the time I have them in the house.

This afternoon, I decided to get the car washed and took it down the road to the local auto car wash place. I was second in the queue so it went quickly and I was out in no time. Another job done.

This evening the family had dinner together and then Cape Town took on Johannesburg in 30 seconds. We won, but only just! It was neck and neck – very evenly matched.

The other news is the failing health of my cell phone. It’s been overheating, randomly turning itself off and freezing. I’ve had it a couple of years but it cost a lot at purchase and was at least expected to last another two years or so. I’m babying it along. I’ll have to do something about it in the New Year.

So now we are four days before Christmas and I am happy. Stacey and Adrian arrive in 3 nights! It’s really been fun having Julian in the cottage and seeing so  much of the family. Tomorrow I must wrap up the menu for the weekend and do the food shopping.

Christmas passes so quickly, I’m trying to enjoy every moment.

I’m close to the end of the Bible. In the Old Testament, I’m in Zechariah. In the New Testament, I’m in Revelation.

Zechariah 1:3

This is what the Lord Almighty says: “Return to me,” declares the Lord Almighty, “and I will return to you,” says the Lord Almighty.

It’s never too late.

These are the days.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
