Ready for Christmas

Apart from one Christmas present which is not yet bought, I am pretty much ready for Christmas. Oh, oh, apart from food – I’ll need to do some Christmas food shopping before Christmas as well.

But, today the family start arriving. It’s going to be a wonderful time for all of us. I leave for the airport in an hour. Julian’s room is ready. He is staying in the cottage out back…

I spent a chunk of the day washing and cleaning. It was very dusty, but now the bed is made up and everything is cleaned and dusted.

Then this afternoon Mike and I headed OTM (over the mountain) as we had to go to Makro. Surprisingly, for this time of the year, it wasn’t busy. Mike is a very detailed person. The purchase we made was well researched, double checked, tried out in the shop and finally paid for. I love Mike for that characteristic. Yesterday, after he had the lesion cut out of his back, he headed off across the road to the municipality to get a phone number of a colleague he used to work with. When he got home, he phoned him to ask for a favour. The colleague was happy to oblige and after getting the information, emailed it to Mike. He is now able to make great progress on plotting out the house on the piece of land at Echo.  Julian knows nothing about this, so when he arrives this evening he will get a big surprise. Mike is very excited about building at Echo. First it was Julian and I pushing and cajoling him into the idea. Now he has grabbed the bull by the horns and is driving the project full steam ahead.

David came this morning and it was great to have him visit. We will see a lot of him this weekend. We are thrilled for him that he completed his Masters in Music this year. I’ve had a few whatsapps with Stace today as well. This morning as I was having my quiet time, I thanked the Lord for the great relationship I have with Stacey and David. I’m blessed to get on so well with both of them. They certainly have been ideal children…..I got very few grey hairs over them!

#513 of my 1000 thanks is for the relationship I have with my children. This was taken a year ago…

And now she is 4 months pregnant.

Psalm 127:3

Children are a gift from the Lord;  they are a reward from Him.

Amen to that!

These are the days!

Keep the smile going.

God bless you!

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
