Fire Aftermath

Monday

Today was the day…

…the wind picked up and there was a strong south-easter which prevented helicopters from water bombing the fire. It continued to rage for most of the day but they do say it is more contained, although still burning. One of the UCT libraries (Jagger Library reading room)  was completed gutted and that footage was captured…

This video was put up on You Tube.

Such a loss, but no loss of human life. Four fire fighters were injured and one home was gutted. That’s what I’ve read. Hopefully, the wind will die overnight.

For me, I worked the whole day, close to 10 hours. Mondays are always busy. With the strong winds I happily forwent a jaunt to the beach. This evening, on the other hand, we walked down to the beach for dinner at the Galley. It was nice and quiet and dinner was great. Julian and I walked back as well.

And now I’m ready to call it a day. It may not have been a greatly successful day but I was grateful for work.

Romans 14:17

The kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking but of righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

The best is yet to come – we are only passing through.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
