Bachelor Pad is Coming Along

Tuesday

Today was the day…

…a whole lot of stuff arrived for various parts of the house. A friend was clearing out the contents of her neighbour’s house as they had already left for Australia. We went to see what was available on Sunday and picked up a number of items which were delivered today. One of the things was this amazing old food cupboard which is now in the cottage (I can’t bring myself to call it guesthouse!)

Some of the stuff was destined for the bachelor unit (aka the basement – we are trying to get away from calling it that!) This unit we bought from a local second hand store. We love buying stuff second hand…Mike and Courage put in the sink and installed the tap.

Then today a couple more pieces of furniture arrived…

I’m not sure if the chair will stay but the little table will be useful. We also bought a screen…

Which will end up in the cottage. And pot plants…

One of which is hanging out on our floor…

And for R50, we got this rusty old pot plant holder which is now on my balcony! It has so much character…

The units are slowly coming together. It’s taken longer than I thought it would but certainly we should be able to get them rented in the next month or two. I hope! In the next few days, I’ll post photos of the porch outside the bachelor. It’s almost done.

I worked for about 6 hours. I started late because we went to the beach latish and then walked to the shops. The beach was lovely. There was a bit of swell….

And I learned this evening that the temperature was 14.1C. It felt cold. I spent 36 minutes in that water and swam 1299m, or so my watch tells me. I swam out to the barrel twice, but there was very little crawl done. Most of it was breast stroke. The wind has dropped so maybe tomorrow we will go again!

Mike made a great spaghetti bolognaise for dinner.

1 Peter 1:2

May God give you more and  more grace and peace.

You can’t have too much grace and peace.

The best is yet to come – we are only passing through.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
