Favourite Childhood Books

Thursday

Stacey bought me such a cool gift for Christmas. She bought me a subscription to StoryWorth. Each week I get a question to answer. The answer gets sent to Stacey and also saved on line. At the end of 52 weeks, there is the option to put it into a book form for the next generation and beyond to have as a keep sake.

So one of the recent questions was what were my favourite childhood books. At the top of the list was this one…

If you have a grandchild, get them this book. It’s delightful. Stacey now has it and Elsie is already familiar with it. This particular edition is the first and worth a few pennies. But the value lies in the fun story and the special family times when reading it.

I also loved Richard Scarry books. My favourite was What Do People Do All Day. I’m not sure what happened to it as I don’t have it any longer and I don’t think I passed it onto Stacey. My favourite Richard Scarry character was and still is Lowly Worm. I used to read through the book and every time I looked for and counted Lowly Worm’s appearance.

The other two of my favourites are these ones…which Elsie is also now enjoying.

There’s Lowly Worm close to the bottom right hand corner. These books bought me much joy.

As I got a little older I enjoyed Enid Blyton books such as the Magic Faraway Tree and the Enchanted Wood. Then I went onto Famous Five and Secret Seven. I loved those ones too.  As I got into my teens, my studies took over and I read a lot less.

Good memories!

Today I’ve worked and not been to the building site. In fact, I’m going to wrap this up and head on down there to help Mike.

Philippians 4:7

The peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

These are the days.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,
