In Awe

Wednesday

Today I was up early to get some work done. It also meant I could join Mike for an early start at the site. This was 7:38am…

The job today was plugs for the ground floor. Here he is putting in a double plug. One side is on the balcony….

And the other side is in the bedroom…

Soon after we arrived, so did the workers who got on with plastering…it’s like icing a cake.

We worked until load shedding (10am) and then went home for breakfast. I had a work meeting at 11am. David arrived as well. Today was a significant day in his life as, after training and testing, he began teaching English online with the Chinese education group he signed with last year. With Corona causing chaos, everyone is learning out of home, so it was a group call with all the kids logging in from their homes. Many of them had their Moms joining in. The HR are still working hard to get David and Stuart into the country and hope to have their documents finalised in the next couple of weeks. Then it’s a case of booking their flights and getting their visas from what hopefully will be a very quiet Chinese embassy. They could possibly be in China in a month!

This evening we went back to the site, mainly to lock up Mike’s tools. Every time I go there now I am in awe.  Never in our wildest dreams would we ever have believed we would live in a house like this, let alone see it being built. The builder is doing a great job and we are very happy with his work. He is being very patient with Mike who wears many hats –  client, designer, electrician, primary decision maker and budge controller. Mike has ideas, specifications and expectations.  I think he sometimes drives Werner nuts but they are finding their way with each other and right now both are happy. 🙂 Today we heard the next concrete pour for the top and final floor (Julian’s) will be Tuesday 24th March.

We got in a short while ago and we haven’t had dinner.

Numbers 6:26

May the Lord show you His favour and give you His peace.

These are the days.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂

Gym:

Up and down the hill, up on my feet, down on my knees, squat, stand, up and down the hill. Two hours at the site got me some gym.

Braces:

1 year a 119 days.
