Day at the Cape Town Open Golf Competition

Today dawned windy but very overcast.  Mike and I trundled off to the Royal Cape Golf Course and walked 9 holes following Hennie Otto and another 9 holes following Peter Karmis who, his wife says, is playing the best golf of his life. His father also follows him around. I found the two of them resting their legs….

In the early part of the round, Peter played well earning him a spot on the leaderboard…

Unfortunately he dropped a couple of shots and ended 4th at the end of the day…

I sat for a while by the 18th. At most golf courses I’ve been to in the Cape Town area, there are dozens (sometimes 100s of) Egyptian geese. But at Royal Cape, I didn’t see a single one. There were a couple of families of regular ducks…they waddled around as if they owned the place.

We got a sizable amount of exercise and returned home mid afternoon needing to put our feet up!

This evening we have just come out of 2 hours of load shedding. My friend Jo gets notifications that load shedding may happen. She lets us all know so we were alerted to it. Crazy that there is load shedding in the hottest month of the year.

End of the weekend, and while I haven’t officially worked I have been replying to messages on my cell phone. It’s been a lovely weekend!

Psalm 139: 13-14

You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. Than You for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous – how well I know it.

We are intimately known by God. There is nothing about us He does not know.

Mike started praying for a wife when he was 13. We often laugh and say the Lord looked at Mike and said, “He needs someone very special- what’s in production?” He saw me in my Mother’s womb and matched us perfectly. 13 years and 8 months is the difference between Mike and I. He was born on 28th February 1951. I was born on 5th November 1964. Such an age difference may not work for everyone, but it certainly worked for us.

Grateful!

These are the days!

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
