Family Day!

This morning Adrian, Stacey and Elsie arrived to spend most of the day with us. David came too. It was wonderful and memorable. Elsie has grown so much since Christmas Day which was when we last saw her. She is now on her way to 9 months. She is almost crawling. She is smiling and babbling and so very curious.

She loved hanging out with her uncle, who played piano with her and they both had a serious investigation of a train’s wheel. It will not surprise me if Elsie turns out to be an engineer like her Mom.

It works like this….

Stacey and Adrian went out for a short while. We played with Elsie and then she fell asleep.

We braai’ed and mid afternoon, they set off again for Swellendam. We have got to do it again. Maybe we can make day outings like this to Swellendam in the future. Lovely seeing Elsie thriving and so very cute.

A little while after they left, I lay on the bed and fell fast asleep. I dreamed I was on the ship and had climbed right up to a high part overlooking the deck. I was on a ledge before a sheer drop. Suddenly I felt the ledge move. I shifted over to the right, closer to the steps that took me up there. The ledge turned out to be massive doors that staff were sliding open for an event. Someone looked up and saw me standing on this ledge and scurried up to help me get down. As they were about to reach me, Mike arrived with a fizzy magnesium for me to drink and I woke up!

The Bible verse for today is Psalm 37:4. A wonderful verse.

Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.

He certainly has. Apart from our biggest achievements which are our children, the Lord gave Mike and I to each other! Today 32 and a half years ago, we got married. Half anniversary. We are still celebrating!

These are the days.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
