Making Load Shedding Work

Today we have had load shedding and more is expected. The electricity went off at just moments after 10am and they came back on as close to 12-30 that you can get. And now it has gone from schedule 2 to 4.

This means that we will have no power again from 6pm to 8-30pm, just like last night. But tonight, we are more prepared! The blog will be done!

Today at 10am, I was ready. The kettle was boiled and I had disconnected from my work server. I also had a plan of what I was going to do. I have to do my tax and had hundreds of receipts that needed to be put in order, so I got them all out and sorted them by category. Then I put them in envelopes.

They have all been counted the numbers are on the outside of the envelope. I just need to enter them all onto my spreadsheet and I will be mostly done. It took just about all the 2.5 hours. I was thrilled to get them all sorted. Now I can see my desk again! By the time 6pm comes, I will be ready with something else to do. I found a copy of a Samurai Sudoku. That will be fun. The other thing I am going to be sure to do is to charge my cell phone.

Load shedding has been going on a while. I see on my blog that I have a note of it in 2014. It was 6th March 2014 that I first mentioned it – almost 5 years ago. It is amazing how you can live without electricity for short periods but it is most inconvenient.  It is one of our priorities to get solar once we move to our new house, God willing, when it gets built!

I’ve done 5 hours of work today, which is not bad considering I did my taxes for 2 and a half hours. I’ve got a Skype call in a short while, so will wrap this up now.

Jeremiah 1:5

Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you and before you were born I consecrated you.

That’s some that always stirs me. Before I was born, I was consecrated. It’s quite difficult to comprehend that of myself – that I could be set apart for a higher purpose. Everyone who knows God is consecrated.  When I was in my teens and my peers looked up their names to find out what they meant, I used to cringe.

Now that I am older, I’m grateful. Nothing of my own doing. 1 Corinthians 1:30 – God has united you with Christ Jesus. For our benefit God made Him to be wisdom itself. Christ made us right with God; He made us pure and holy, and He freed us from sin.

These are the days.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
