David’s Challenge

It wasn’t really a ‘challenge’, but yesterday when David stopped by he said he had looked at my running times and said I could probably run 3km under 20 minutes.  Enough said!

That was my challenge today. I did a few stretches beforehand and then set the gym to 9km/hour and off I went. I ran a few hundred metres per kilometre at 10km/hour and I finished well in time…

Then I cycled for 30 minutes, (11.4km) and swam 30 lengths.

By then it was time for the aqua class. I sat on the side of the pool to dry off for a bit and watched…

Maybe one day I’ll join. The level of the water is down again. We are waiting for it to be topped up. I’m not sure where they get the water but they seem to have a plan.

I cleared out some books today and in doing so I found a journal that I had written almost 10 years ago. In it I talk of praying for my children, grand-children and great-grandchildren.  We can influence the generations ahead by praying for them. I read this on the Wheaton website:

Sunday School teacher Edward Kimball helped lead Dwight L. Moody to Christ;
J. Wilbur Chapman was converted at a Dwight L. Moody evangelistic meeting;
Billy Sunday was converted at a Chapman meeting;
Mordecai Ham was converted at Billy Sunday meeting;
and Billy Graham was converted at a Ham meeting.

We all fit into a picture. Some of these names we have never heard of before yet God used their influence in a far bigger way than would ever be imagined.

With today being a public holiday in South Africa (Human Rights Day), it has been pretty chilled. I worked for a few hours. One of the strange things that has happened is in regards to my cat Truffles. I took her to the vet last week and just about ever since, she has been sleeping inside. She has literally gone from sleeping outside to coming into the house at dinner time and staying. She’s been sleeping in our bedroom and wanting a whole lot more love and affection.

#605 of my 1000 thanks is for Truffles recent affection. I’m not sure if it’s the cooler weather or something the vet gave her. Long may it last!

Romans 5:8

God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

These are the days.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
