Thursday
Today was the day…
I turned 56! I’ve had a super day.
But the event of the day that almost supersedes me getting a day older is that after three years of growth, David had his hair cut. This is the before…
And after…
He looks soooo good. Since the above photo was taken, he has shaved off his beard as well so he looks very young!
Meanwhile, apart from celebrating my birthday, chatting with family, and oohing and aahing over David’s hair, Mike and Courage were hard at work connecting the water tanks to the gutters. Courage spent the day putting the piping in. This afternoon, we dragged the tanks back into place after they blew down the hill. See that story here. Courage connected them…
The race was on to get the job done before the rain comes. There were a few light showers earlier and it was still enough to hear the water falling into the tank. This is the rain forecast for tomorrow…
So the tanks should get a decent filling. Eventually this water will flush the toilets.
Today Mike saw a mongoose run behind our house. He saw it through the scullery window. Lots of little wildlife around.
Still no definitive US election result.
Altogether it’s been a lovely day, filled with calls and messages from all over the place. So grateful.
