A Six Hour Day

We woke this morning to the rain having passed having washed the Cape and assisted in filling the dams. The dam levels were measured yesterday (before the rain) and were 20% full compared to 20.9% the week before and 23.6% at the same time last year. More rain is forecast this week, so hopefully next week we will start seeing the dam levels rise.

You can check out the Cape Town dam level website here.

I just counted how many hours I worked today and it was a perfect six hours. The thing with my work is that I turn a clock on and for 95% that the clock is ticking I am sitting at my computer working.   As my time is my own, I started today at 10-05 and with a couple of breaks in-between, I ended at 6-55pm.

#640 of my 1000 thanks is for a freelancing job.  It means that when Stacey has her baby, I can work around it. They are hugely flexible and it makes it really easy.

So one of the things I did today was to go to Noordhoek Common with Riana to walk her very active new fur-baby Meggie…

It was a lovely walk & Meggie loved it, chasing squirrels and hadadas and rolling in horse manure!  Life doesn’t get better for a dog. Riana had to take her home for a bath!

The common is a great place to walk the dogs. There are loads of them, all off their leads and loving the socialization.

Mike made a fabulous spaghetti bolognaise for dinner. We watched an episode of The Good Wife and now here I am again back at my desk with Truffles on my lap. Let me see if I can take a reasonable selfie of us….looking a bit scruffy at the end of the day.

But I just had a good laugh doing this because my cell phone camera when put on selfie mode puts a square around the face and gives it an age and gender. Mine was 47-year-old female! Good camera! That’s the way to win friends! Must be the light taking me back 6 years!

Happy Tuesday!
