They Weren’t Kidding

It’s pouring with rain. They said it would. There was even a warning of flood damage. The downpour started about an hour ago and it has continued. We even went outside and got some sand bags to put up against one of our outside doors….just in case the water level rose. It’s so wet out there. We also filled up the 25 litre container for rinsing dishes before they get washed in drinking water.

Truffles was outside, shivering on the doorstep, half drenched.

I bought the birds a new bottle as the old one was leaking. The birds know better though and have not been at the feeders all afternoon…they are probably safely in their nests, sheltering from the cold and wet.

Winter is rearing her wonderful head and we couldn’t be happier.

#641 of my thousand thanks is for winter being on the way!

Extreme gratitude!

It looks like we are in for wet weather overnight as well as on and off throughout tomorrow. Each drop represents hope for the drought to break. It’s not time yet to celebrate with a longer shower, but maybe if we get a whole lot more of this level of rain, we can hope the 50 litre water restriction may increase.

Today, I woke just before 7. I made coffee and went to gym. I worked for almost an hour before meeting friends for more coffee. I did a whole lot more work this afternoon. We had an early supper and now, while it feels like 8pm, it’s not even 6pm! I’m ready for my pajamas, bed and my book or You Tube.

We’ll see!

Psalm 91:15

When they call on Me, I will answer; I will be with them in trouble. I will rescue and honour them.

These are the days.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂

Gym:

  • Cycled – 20km in 45 minutes 10 seconds
  • Swam – 30 lengths (it was hard work – I need to build more lung capacity!)
