8 Promises God Has Made –

12-20pm

The natural sequence to yesterday’s blog is ‘so what has God promised that I can know for sure?’ I’m so glad you asked!

1. He has promised eternal life.

John 3:16 – For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son so that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life.

Romans 10:9 –   If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

2. He has promised His eternal love.

Romans 8: 37-39 –  And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.

3. He promises us forgiveness.

John 1:29 –  The next day John sees Jesus coming to Him, and says, “Behold the Lamb of God, which takes
away the sin of the world.”

Ephesians 1:27 –  “In Whom we have redemption
through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to theriches of His grace.”

4. He has promised us peace.

John 14:27 – Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

5. He has promised to never leave us.

Hebrews 13:5 – Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”

Deuteronomy 31:6 –  Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”

6. He has promised the plans for us are good.

Jeremiah 29:11 – For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.

7. He promises us rest.

Matthew 11:28-29 –  “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls”.

8. Although bad things may happen, He works them out for our good

Romans 8:28 – And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.

Those are just 8. There are a lot more!

Gods promises

Wow, what a rainy day it has been in Cape Town. The cat has spent most of her time indoors, but after I got home, she took a look out the window to see just how bad it was…this is her view…

In His Grip,
