Stacey’s Wedding Anniversary Gift To Us…

11-53am

Regularly when I asked Stace what she was up to when she was in SE Asia, she would say, “working and doing cross-stitch!” I never thought to ask what she was cross-stitching. Imagine my delight, when on their arrival home, she produced a small plastic packet with something inside and with a little smile on her face, she said “and this is our anniversary gift to you.” It looked suspiciously like the kind of packet a hard drive or motherboard would be in, so I had no idea what to expect! I took the packet and immediately realised this was NOT a piece of technology. I unfolded it and gasped in amazement! She had found a photo of Mike & I, taken in the south of France on 20th March 2011.  My brother, Julian was with us and he had taken this photo…

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAShe took the photo, loaded it onto a website, printed it out onto cross-stitch fabric and got to work. It took her nine months and here it now is in a frame….

Cross-stitchI tried to lessen  the reflection from the frame’s glass, but wasn’t entirely successful. What you need to know is that all the white around the picture is cross-stitch fabric and every piece of colour in the picture is thread, painstakingly cross-stitched by my daughter! What an amazing gift! It makes me warm and fuzzy thinking that she spent so many months cross-stitching us, thinking about us!!! We missed them so much and are so appreciating them being home, even if it is for only 4 months.

She said she used the website pic2pat.com, but she also wrote her own program that does it. It’s a brilliant idea!

Such a blessing!

Psalm 127:3 Children are a heritage from the LORD, offspring a reward from Him.

I’m off to gym soon. Waterlogged Cape Town is expecting more rain tonight. Seems the washing is going to have to be hung inside!

God bless you loads & stay warm and dry if you can!

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
