Words That Stir My Spirit

10-22am

Today I came home early as Julian (my brother from Johannesburg) needs my car. This is a great excuse to get back into bed and sit with my netbook and bring out an early blog. Right now, the CCFm main studio has been gutted and will soon be refurbished with fresh new broadcasting equipment. It’s been 15 years since it was last done, so it’s time…

Gutted studioI actually have found myself saying, ‘it’s time’ quite often these days. I’m saying it again today as I return to gym after my little op and Swellendam trip. Did I mention how much I loved that little town? A number of people have asked me if I would move there. The answer to that question is “I don’t know!” You don’t have to scroll back too far on my blog to know that I am passionate about Cape Town and it would be extremely difficult for me to leave…and to that end, I’ll sneak in today’s gratitude pic….a photo from the cat walk at Fish Hoek Beach…

Spectacular sunsetI am happily protective over ‘my beach.’ The best in all the world…

My beach - Fish HoekTomorrow, Mike & I celebrate 25 years of having lived in the same house! A quarter of a century in ONE PLACE. The stability that comes with the deep roots we have put down is comforting. God has been very good to us. Looking back, I am reminded also of what I read this morning. My journey through the Bible has bought me to my favourite book – the Gospel of John.

I remember many years ago, just as I came to know the Lord, the enormous stirring that swept across my heart as I read the first 14 verses of John 1. I was filled with relief that I had discovered the truth and I felt so privileged to have done so. Words that impacted my life: John 1 vss 12-13

“Yet to all who received Him, to those who believed in His Name, He gave the right to become children of God – children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.”

Even today, those words stir my spirit. They hold within them a supernatural power and security that moved me from a place of uncertainty to a place of eternal security. I believe in Jesus Christ and I am a Child of God. Nothing else matters! The same freedom and safety is freely available to you too! I pray you have it!

God bless you richly!

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
