Keep The Smile Going…

12-12pm

Smiling may be the world’s biggest social gesture, but the person it benefits most is the person from whose face it glows!

And that’s the truth. You don’t have to go far to find ‘smile’ research. You just have to smile yourself. Somehow, the lifting of your lips into a smile releases chemicals that instantly affect how you feel. You go from mad, sad or bad to somehow glad. It’s remarkable.

“Keep the smile going.” It’s a phrase I’ve found myself saying. “You’ve just got to keep the smile going.” And if you do, you will feel more good about yourself and your life than you have before.

The scientific reaction of what happens when you smile is fascinating. I read an article in Psychology Today by Sarah Stephenson. The gist of what she says is that smiling affects your brain, your body and others. As you go about your daily life, neurons are constantly communicating within your brain transmitting signals as to how things are going. When you smile, imagine a few fireworks going off with each sparkle being a feel good
Me smilingchemical. That’s pretty much what happens. No wonder, I continually feel the effect when I smile, even when I am not particularly happy. I smile for random reasons. I smile because I know I look better when I’m smiling, so that’s for the benefit of others. I smile when I’ve left my sunglasses behind and I don’t want to be squinting at the sun. Best way to avoid frown lines is to smile them away.

I feel healthier when I smile! I feel that everything is okay from my brain to my toes. I read that people who smile often are more successful, happier and live longer than those who don’t! So keep the smile going…it is so worth it! You have nothing to lose! Smiling is a way of behaving your way to success. Try it!

Today I read Psalm 102. Vs 18 says,

Let this be written for a future generation, that a people not yet created may praise the Lord.

That’s me…and you! The Bible is full of treasures written for us, a future generation – so that those of us who were not yet created could praise the Lord.

God bless you!

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
