If autumn in Cape Town is March, April and May, we are mid-autumn but the cold wind and dark mornings certainly make it feel like winter is around the corner. There are two things I find much harder to do in winter:
- Get up early to go to gym.
- Get out of bed to work at my desk.
It’s far easier to skip exercise and carry my laptop to my bed. But, being propped up in bed gives rise to really bad posture and I soon find myself stiff and sore. It’s healthier to sit at my desk, on my ergonomic chair with my big monitor and a blanket over my knees.
The sun is rising at 7-15am at the moment.
Today has been windy – a strong summer-like south-easterly wind has pumped through Fish Hoek all day. It’s still blowing gales, but tomorrow rain is due. Yay!!
Today I did drag myself out of bed and by 6-45am was on the bike at gym. An hour later, I got a message from work and the last day of Easter was ambushed. On getting home, I had a shower and then worked through to just before 10am when we met Julian and David for breakfast. We then went back to Echo, said goodbye to Julian and I returned home to work. David took J to the airport.
I spent more time working but in the end only did just under 4 hours. It felt like more!
Mike and I cooked dinner together and we have had a quiet evening.
Tomorrow the new weeks starts in earnest. I am ready!
Psalm 52:8
I am like an olive tree, thriving in the house of God. I will always trust in God’s unfailing love.
Amen!
These are the days.
Keep the smile going.
God bless you.
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
