What We Are Born To Do

“What is the purpose of life?” is a question asked by millions, pondered, debated and queried.  I like peeling back the layers of complex questions and trying to settle on the simple foundation of it. There are so many things that we will never understand in this life, that I certainly find myself attracted to simplicity.

It’s that comfortable feeling you get at the end of the day when all the work is done. When you get to that point, there is a sense of satisfaction and pleasure in knowing everything you needed to do is done and now it’s you time. Time to kick back and chill.

The massive pressures in life come when there is too much work to do and not enough time. The immense stress crumbles as you tick off the to-do list.

In a similar way, when it comes to what we are born to do, we can tick that off the to-do list  and rest in the pleasure of simply knowing the answer and embracing it.

Born to Believe.

Stand Firm In Your Faith.

Isaiah 7:9b

If you do not stand firm in your faith, you will not stand at all.

As we may get bogged down with a thousand things to try and do, we may also get bogged down by trying to figure out the multitude of threads that come with  finding purpose for our life.

The Amplified Version of the Bible unpacks this verse a little more:

“If you will not believe and trust in and rely on God, surely you will not be established nor will you remain.”

There is only one way forward in this life and that is by having faith in God and standing firm in it. Without it you will not stand at all. There is no other way. For me, faith in Christ is what the aim of my life is all about. Finding faith in Christ – coming to faith in Christ and walking a life of faith in Christ. This is what we are born into this life to do. And so we must do it. Don’t waiver – don’t look to the right or the left. Don’t look back. Don’t get bogged down by a multitude of other strange beliefs. Keep right on going forward, in faith, believing, meeting like-minded people, steeping yourself in the Word of God, seeking God’s face in prayer, trusting in and relying on God. That way we will stand firm in our faith. If we do not, we will not stand at all.

Crocodiles, I am told, never stop growing – we need to be like crocodiles – if we always stand firm in our faith – we will always be growing in Christ. He is bottomless – there is always more to take in.

Bottomless cup

Keep the smile going.

God bless you!

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
