Red Letter Day

I think I should call this blog Green Bush Day – but it is a notable day. Today we took the first step which may be of a hundred or more steps on a journey to build a house on a mountainside!

I cannot believe I am writing those words. Have we really come to the point where this unimaginable dream could start to become a reality?

In order to discover the possibilities of building, we had to get the land on the mountainside cleared and then we may know more.

So while no foundation has yet been laid, no firm decisions made, we took the first step. We arranged for the  bush to be cleared….

By lunchtime, it looked like this…

Making good progressWell thinned out on what you can see is a brilliant Cape Town day. Down on the road, the pile of branches have grown…

More branchesWe used an expert who knows the area quite well….

Bush Hackers - right man for the jobJohan came with his wood chipper which cuts down on a lot of carting of the branches away….

Wood chipperThere’s no easy 3 step process to do what we want to do. Also it doesn’t happen overnight, but today is a green bush/red letter day in that a start was made.

And it needs to be marked…

I’ve prayed a lot about this. I want God’s will to be done here and not my own. I have surrendered it. I have committed it. I have laid it all out before Him.

Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight.

Those words are in my heart. We will have to find out if we can build and if we can build, we need to know how we can build and how much we can build. It won’t be easy, but we will take one step at a time. This was step one.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you!

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
