Tuesday
Last night we realigned our expectations, worked out our building finances and had an early morning talk with Werner. There are plenty of ways we can save money and Mike will look to employ every one of them! When we arrived at the site this morning, the first thing that met us was this…we have bricks!
While we were on site, they were off-loaded onto the pavement…
And by later this afternoon, when we returned to the site, these 4 palettes had been moved up; half were on the patio and other half on the basement slab…
These are for the retaining walls. Tomorrow, they put the steel in the boxes. Thursday, they put the concrete in the boxes and on Monday they start building the retaining walls. That’s the schedule. Meanwhile, they have dug the trench for the foundations of the next floor up, which is the first floor…
They have also dug quite a lot of the trench at the back of the property. This next photo is looking down from there…
Bit by bit, brick by brick, we’ll see progress.
Mike and I lengthened some of the conduiting this evening and then came home for supper. It is really fun being on site and just doing little bits that contribute. It’s just amazing being there and seeing it grow.
The other good news we heard yesterday is that our passports are safely at the Egyptian embassy in Pretoria. Hopefully in ten days time, they will be successfully collected with required visas in situ.
Today was a good work day for me. I did close to 6 hours. It was perfect.
I also did the linen and a load of laundry. I’m looking forward to climbing into bed tonight!
2 Thessalonians 2:14
He called you to salvation when we told you the Good News; now you can share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
These are the days.
Keep the smile going.
God bless you.
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
