We Are Home!

Sunday

Today has been a l-o-n-g day so this will surely be a short blog.  We were woken this morning at 5am by the jarring sound of my cell phone ringing. It was our alarm company saying the panic button had been activated at home. I contacted Stuart who is staying in the cottage. Everything was fine. It seemed to be related to the stormy weather and the solar batteries.

By then we were awake so we got up and had coffee. The family all woke up in time. Mike and Julian went for a last walk, where they were able to get quite close to the zebras…

Lovely photo. Well done Julian.

Just after 9am, we pulled out of our AirBnb house and got on the road home. We had a couple of stops but were soon driving down the N3 towards Johannesburg. Miles and miles of Free State farmlands….

Julian did all the driving….5 hours of it…

He dropped us directly at OR Tambo airport in Johannesburg. We got there early, had a meal and hung about. Mike and I did some walking and found ourselves at the viewing platform watching a couple of planes coming in…

Time passed quickly and we were soon boarding our flight home. It was on time and we arrived as scheduled. Stuart was there to pick us up. Everything had gone to plan. We were very grateful. Truffles was happy to see us. I had a quick shower and then phoned Stacey to catch up. Blog is done and now it’s time to head for bed.

Highlights – spending time with the family; walking the mountains and seeing the wild life; walking to the Grotto!

Amazed that I didn’t need to charge my laptop or my fitness watch for the four days we were away.

Proverbs 11:30

The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and the one who is wise saves lives.

These are the days!

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂

I walked 10000 steps today despite the 7 hours of sitting in a car and plane.
