Walking Through Field and Forest

That’s what we did today. It has been a good day off with just a smidgen of work.

Mike wanted to practice golf, so he headed to Simon’s Town. Julian and I talked about walking in the Silvermine reserve but there was a lot of low cloud, so we drove over to Tokai Forest.  We parked at the forest and went left after we walked through the gate. As the trees end, there is a long track that runs along side the fields on one side and the road on the other. Eventually you get to the end and turn right up this track…

Horses passed by…

There were also runners, cyclists and lots and lots of dog walkers.

The path soon becomes a boardwalk…

There’s a bit more open space before arriving back in the forest proper…

It’s just too beautiful with cloud cover and autumn colours combining to make a fabulous 3.78km Sunday walk.

Afterwards, we stopped at Steenberg shopping centre for tea and to pick up some shopping. Then it was home. By then I had spotted some email in my inbox and did about an hour’s work. I had ordered Freedom Food’s family Sunday lunch, which was delicious roast lamb. David joined us after posting his latest You Tube video…

This afternoon we have been watching cricket and this evening we will be going to see a movie. Great to have Julian here for an extra day.

2 Thessalonians 2:16-17

May our Lord Jesus Christ Himself and God our Father, who loved us and by His grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word.

God by His grace gave us eternal encouragement and  good hope.  Not only is the hope of eternal life but He also gave me the blessing of living in the Cape of Good Hope!

These are the days.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
