When I was a teenager studying for school exams one of the habits I got into was walking and learning. I would go down to the school fields, taking my study notes with me and I’d walk round and round and round. I would read my notes and then try memorize them as I walked. Today was such a beautiful day, I decided to walk to Valyland – around trip of 6km. Mike had work to do, so I was on my own. After I got on the road, I decided it would be a good idea to refresh John 1. Out came my cell phone and I started memorizing these famous and familiar words…I got through the first 8 verses.
I think over the years I have tried several times to memorize the first chapter of John, or even just the first 16 verses, but I’ve never succeeded. It does take persistence and discipline. Once done, it’s easy to forget so revision is always required. I don’t know if I will be successful this time, but if I am it will be so worth it.
It’s been a very relaxing day. I kept half an eye on my email but there was nothing that needed too much attention.
- Went to Pilates.
- Mike and I walked to the Mall.
- I spoke to Stacey and Elsie! She is so cute. She likes playing with Stacey’s hair. When Stacey turns her head, her ponytail moves away from Elsie, who then put hers hand on Stacey’s cheek and pushes her face toward the front so the ponytail comes back!
- I walked to Valyland.
- We had trout for dinner.
It was a good relaxing day!
David was busy today. He was spotted doing the Park Run…
And this popped up on my screen:
Very talented!
Ephesians 6:17
Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
Yep!
These are the days.
Keep the smile going.
God bless you.
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
