View from the Window…

3-32pm

View from the lunch window that is….today being Peter’s last day in Cape Town and with both he and Julian flying out tonight, we decided to have lunch at Fish Hoek Galley. What a splendid location…this is the view from our table…

Lunch viewThere were 5 of us at lunch. Granny was home having a midday snooze….

LunchMike took the photo and made up the cheerful party. We had a great time.

Last night the 4 of them went to movies, including huge buckets of popcorn and large cokes…

These 4 went to movies last night60 years between oldest and youngest – equally enjoyed by all!

We will wait & see if the overnight to London that Peter will be flying on is to be delayed due to snow at Heathrow. The Virgin Atlantic staff only arrive after 6pm, so we can only call then.  But since typing that, I’ve found this….

Heathrow weatherSo it should be okay for his arrival in London tomorrow morning.

This morning, I managed to get to church. I sorted Granny and Mike stayed home. Pastor John preached a wonderful encouraging message about God being with us at the best of times and at the worst of times.  He told some of the story of Jacob who connected with God and God left him with this reassuring  promise…

Genesis 28:15: “I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go…”

No matter who we are, what our background, or how dysfunctional our family, how far we have strayed, how many mistakes we have made, God wants us to connect with Him. He will reassure us of His presence and His continual presence with us. 🙂

Time to wrap this up and head off for a final drive – up Redhill to show them a spectacular view of Simonstown. No picking up hitch-hikers today!

God bless you!

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
