Today has been cold and wet. We were told to brace for a winter storm and we were not disappointed. Mike and I prepared for it, so this morning, #767 of my 1000 thanks is for breakfast in bed!
As the hail came down, Truffles did not like it and wanted to be inside and on our bed. We didn’t want to read the newspaper anyway Truffles!
We are so grateful for the rain. It rained a lot. The South African reported these numbers.. Cape Town rainfall 24 hours up to 8am today 26th August 2018
This is going to do a lot of good to the dam levels, which in turn will help Cape Town’s water situation.
We had a lazy morning. David came for lunch. It was too cold to go to gym so I dusted off my old exercise bike and spent 98 minutes grinding out 30km on it. It’s clearly a whole lot older and less efficient than the spinning bikes at the gym! Then I had a shower and we went to friends for supper. That was great. We are now home and tucked up in bed with a few extra blankets.
