Verrry Quiet Monday

After tearing around Port Victoria in the Seychelles yesterday, today has been refreshingly quiet.

One of the things that is offered on the ship is to have breakfast delivered to your cabin, so last evening, I filled in menu form and put it on our outside door handle. Sure enough at 7-20am, there was a knock at the door and coffee along with breakfast was delivered. It was a nice change from having to go upstairs to the buffet restaurant.

After our breakfast had settled, we hit the gym and I ran/walked 4km in 31 minutes. I may be returning home having gained some weight, but I also will be returning home somewhat fitter. It is my intention to join the gym as soon as I get home. Believe it or not, one week from now, God willing, we will be off the ship, in the sky, flying back to Cape Town. Last time we did this cruise was in November 2013 where we went from Genoa, Italy to Cape Town. This time it has been Venice to Durban. I think the flight will be a good transition time – psychologically moving from holiday mode to home and work mode. The thing I am not looking forward to the most is transitioning back into major water saving requirements. It has been a bit of reprieve not having to worry about how much water we use.

This morning my brother asked if I was tired of it yet. Tired of cruising the Indian Ocean? Not a chance! I lookout of the window and I see the sea passing. Beautiful warm blue ocean with a temperature of about 26C. Our nearest land is Madagascar.

Because we did this trip in 2013, we have been invited to a ‘thank-you for returning’ cocktail party tonight. This is the last time (for the moment) that the Sinfonia is going to be doing this Grand Voyage. Next year, it is MSC’s plan to bring down the MSC Musica which is very similar. I would love to do this route again, but it won’t be next year.

#455 of my 1000 thanks is for my left Achilles tendon that recovered so well overnight!

Psalm 100:5

For the Lord is good and His love endures forever; His faithfulness continues through all generations.

These are the days!

Keep the smile going.

God bless you!

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
