Wednesday
Today was the day…
That passed by in usual Wednesday fashion. Mike and I were out the house by 8am and I snapped a photo from our front door step as the sun rose. It was only later when I looked at the photo that I saw the light shining and reflecting on the house.
By the time I had finished swimming and was back at the bench, the day was looking like a perfect early winter’s day.
The beach community is a very friendly one. There is a little girl called Ava who is 20 months old and is bought down every day by her Mom Nicole. All the old ladies on the beach coo over Ava who has a mop of curly hair. I can imagine in 4 months time, when she turns 2, there will be much celebration. The regulars on the beach all greet and make small talk about the latest happenings, like the dead dolphin that washed up – the cause of death – could it have been hit by one of the paddlers? The temperature of the sea water is most often spoken about. Mike takes down his water thermometer to get a more accurate idea of the temperature. Today it was 14.5C. My watch said it was 13C but maybe it records the lowest it passes through. I think it does depend on where it’s taken. The thermometer gives a good idea though. Mike and I always walk home with frozen feet. They are numb so getting home to a hot shower is always welcome.
For the rest of the day, I put in about 5 hours work.
Julian and I did a walk through the guesthouse to see the final things that need to be done. This evening, the three of us walked to Harbour Bay for dinner at Sav.
Proverbs 19:21
Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.
That’s a verse that comes to mind on quite a regular basis.
The best is yet to come – we are only passing through.
Keep the smile going.
God Bless you.
In His Grip,
Helga xx 🙂
