Tossing The Toxic…

Is it possible to not complain for 363 consecutive days! Yesterday, I can’t remember if I complained or not. If I did, it wasn’t a big complaint. Today, I moaned to Mike for about 5 minutes. The topic? Well, that doesn’t need to be mentioned. The problem was the complaining itself.  So if I’ve blown being non-complaining for 365 days, I’ll have to try start tomorrow and not complain for 363!  This is going to be a BIG one to achieve.  I’ll let you know how I manage!

There’s a thing going round Facebook about a daily gratitude photo! That’s such a good idea. I’m one for taking daily photos, but this gives rise to specifically looking for something to be specially grateful for. A lot of my photos are of things I enjoy and it does mean I’m focussing in on the good of the day. If I have to say what I am appreciative of today, particularly, I actually can’t take a photo of it, because it’s my cell phone. It makes my life so much easier. Instant internet access ensures I can do a whole batch of stuff without waiting for the opportunity to get online on my home netbook. This makes a big, time-saving difference to my life.

Very grateful for ability. Ability to work. Today, back on air, it was great to be there. It was so foreign getting up so early and yet so familiar. Great to be back enjoying the magnificent view from the CCFm balcony….

Lessons from a treeFun!  Dr. Caroline Leaf posted this question on her Facebook page:

“Would you let a poisonous tree grow in your backyard? Remember, thoughts grow on mental real estate! What “trees” are you planting?”

Thoughts are powerful. From the Bible’s point of view, we find ourselves back in Romans 12 vs 2:

 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

Think about what you are thinking about. Time to toss the toxic and embrace the transformation of thinking about what the Bible says.

Philippians 4:8

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable–if anything is excellent or praiseworthy–think about such things.
