They Said There Would Be a Shower

Tuesday

And there was! The only thing is the rain came down as the washing was put up! This afternoon I decided to do a load of washing, thinking it may get dry before nightfall. I put half of it on the line and as I did, it started to spit a few drops before a steady shower poured down. It was lovely. We will never complain about rain. I  skedaddled inside with the balance of the basket and waited half an hour. It soon stopped so I put the rest out. It hadn’t dried before darkness fell so I’ll get it off the line tomorrow afternoon. There may be some more rain in the night. If there is, it will get a good rinse.

The mornings recently have been very sweet. Work is quite quiet. The main director I work for is on holiday and the person standing in for him on UK time, so nothing happens before mid-morning. I get to stay in bed, drink coffee, do my Bible reading and get up at a gentle pace. What a treat. I sometimes work from bed. Usually I have breakfast around 10am and then go to gym. After lunch I’ll do more work.

This afternoon, at about 4pm, Mike and I took a walk to Valy Land. It’s a round trip of 6km and takes us past Fish Hoek Primary school where both Stacey and David went to school (when it was the Middle School). I have many memories of waiting outside the school for them to arrive. I remember sitting in my car thinking one day I won’t be doing this. We also walk park Milkwood Preprimary which Stacey and David also attended. This Valley holds many happy memories for us.

We walked back through Silverglades…across the bridge…

And along the path…

After getting home, I made dinner (fish, baked potato and salad), did the dishes and now I’m here!

Ephesians 2:17

He came and preached peace to you who were far away and peace to those who were near.

These are the days.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂

Gym:

I cycled for an hour – listened to all of Ecclesiastes (it took 50 minutes for the whole book to be read by Max Mclean). Ecclesiastes puts everything in perspective. I think the reading of the Bible did more good than the cycle. (Sign at St. Peters Church)
