Out With The Old…

Monday

The fridge in Granny’s cottage died the other day. I remember when Granny got it. She had told us she needed a new fridge.  It was about 2008. We were a busy family. Granny was living in the cottage. Adrian and Stacey were not yet married, so Stacey and David were both living at home. Stacey was in her third year at UCT and David was in his final year at school. I was working at CCFm and Mike was working in town. Granny mentioned a couple of times she needed a new fridge. Then one day without our knowledge, she went to Fish Hoek with a friend and bought a new fridge. We were startled when it arrived. It was huge!

A year later, right after Adrian and Stace married and after breaking her hip, Granny moved into our house. The fridge carried on being used by whoever was in the cottage. David, Adrian & Stacey after they got back from SE Asia, friends, Dustin, Morgan and now Stuart. The fridge finally croaked. We phoned around to find out if it could be repaired. Seems not, so on Friday we ordered a new fridge to tide us over to next year when, after the Echo build, the cottage at our current house will be used for other means. So out with the old and in with the new…

It’s a lot smaller than the previous one but it will be fine for one person. Job done.

For the rest of today, I did some work, then went to gym gently, shopped, came home, worked some more, dealt with the fridge and managed to sneak in some reading. It’s quite chilly. I’m going to wrap this up so I can get warm.

Galatians 5:22-23

The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.

These are the days.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂

Gym:

65 minutes walking on the treadmill. Knee held up. I listened to Job 23-42. It was amazing.
