The Sun Rose This Morning

Friday

Today was the day…

…after the Queen died. I’ve heard people say no matter what trouble comes, the sun will rise in the morning. And it did.

Mike and I went to the beach for a swim. Life just carried on. There is an old couple. He’s Arthur but I don’t know her name. They came to sit down next to us and I mentioned the Queen’s death to her. She said she was leaving for the UK tonight and would be there for 10 days – probably all of them will be the days of mourning. I updated yesterday’s blog so as to cover her passing which was announced early yesterday evening.

The swim was good. The water was cold – my watch recorded 13C,  but it was good to get back in and get some swimming done. It had no resemblance to a swimming pool. It was a good sea swim with rocking waves and a fresh little breeze. Home for breakfast and I got some work done.

When the 9th of the 9th rolls around, my memory turns to Arnold. Today it’s 15 years since he passed away. The pain of death never leaves – it may get slightly less, but the heartache remains.

Back at the house, Courage and Brian replaced part of the laundry roof. It had been leaking, so we had it covered with plastic. They stripped down the leaky part.

And then they covered it all up again with translucent roof sheets so the laundry would get some light.

That’s enough for this week. They are packing up and heading home.

It’s been a lovely day and we’ve been able to have the patio doors wide open…

Although it’s still quite cold once the sun sets.

And so it’s the weekend.

Psalm 112:7

“They will have no fear of bad news; their hearts are steadfast, trusting in the Lord.”

The best is yet to come – we are only passing through.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
