The Queen Has Died

Thursday

Today was the day…

…that began with a video call with David who was about 25km into a 40km or so day of cycling in Seoul. He stopped for lunch and a chat. It was a good catch up.

I worked for at least 8 hours but it was just in the final hours that I picked up on a story about the Queen’s health.  Apparently at lunchtime something happened with her that led Buckingham Palace to release this statement (royal.uk)

Immediately, her family rushed to be at her side.

CNN…

Sky news…

BBC…

She hasn’t really been the same since she lost her beloved Prince Philip. We’ll be watching to see what happens. I hope her end is gentle and kind – surrounded by her family. A great woman of faith, her eternal salvation is assured.

I wrote all of that and then an hour or two later, it was announced from Buckingham Palace that the Queen had quietly slipped away with Prince Charles and Princess Anne at her side. At that moment, Charles became King of England.

The Media were ready for their stories…including CNN.

The new line to the throne was also outlined by CNN.

But perhaps the most meaningful message doing the rounds was this one. The Queen was a woman of deep faith and did not hide it.

Not only is she reunited with Philip but also with Jesus.

James 1:5

If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and He will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking.

The best is yet to come – we are only passing through.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
